Storey County residents will have several opportunities to observe the local election process ahead of and after the June 9 primary election.

According to Storey County in an online post, the Storey County Clerk’s Office is offering the public opportunities to observe key steps in the election process, including testing voting equipment and processing ballots.

The public observation events will take place at the Storey County Historic Courthouse, 26 South B Street in Virginia City.

  • Pre-election Logic and Accuracy Testing is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 20. The testing is conducted to verify that voting machines correctly record and tabulate ballots.

  • Mail ballot processing is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on June 9.

  • Final ballot processing is scheduled for 5 p.m. on June 15.

  • Post-election Logic and Accuracy Testing is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on June 17.
