A standoff with the Washoe County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) SWAT Team ended in the arrest of a man in Sun Valley on Sunday.
At around 4:20 p.m., WCSO dispatch received a report of an unwanted person at a home on Brahms Drive in Sun Valley.
Officials say a woman had called and said that her ex-boyfriend, who is currently under a court order to stay away from her, had come to her house and was inside harassing her.
She also mentioned that her kids were in the home with her.
WCSO deputies headed to the scene and were able to get the woman and her children out of the house safely.
Officials investigated and determined to activate the WCSO SWAT team out of caution and concern for the safety of the community.
SWAT searched the property and were able to find and arrest the suspect, identified as Enrique Cardenas.
Cardenas has been booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Violation of release conditions
- Assault constituting domestic violence
- Obstructing and resisting a police officer
