MARCH 17 UPDATE:

A suspect had been identified in an attempted murder of a semi-truck driver late last month, and that suspect is dead after they shot themselves during a traffic stop.

A release from the Mineral County Sheriff's Office identified the suspect as Christian Castellon of Panorama City, California.

His identification was confirmed through the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network in collaboration with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

On February 26, the same day as the incident in Mineral County, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an attempted murder on Highway 39 in the San Gabriel Mountains.

The victim reported that a light blue, 2000s-model Toyota Camry approached while they were operating a drone.

A man with a dark complexion got out of the car and fired a gun. The victim in this case suffered injuries while defending themselves.

Sheriff's Office deputies recovered bullet casings and got pictures of the suspect and their car from drone footage.

On February 28 the Glendora Police Department pulled over a a light blue, 2000s-model Toyota Camry without license plates. L.A. County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the stop since the car sounded similar to the one from the incident on the 26th.

When deputies arrived, the driver fled in the car, leading to a short chase.

After the car was stopped, Castellon, who was driving, did not comply with commands, eventually raising a handgun to his head and shooting.

He was subsequently pronounced dead at a medical facility.

The recovered handgun, along with spent casings from the Mineral County, Highway 39, and Glendora scenes, were submitted for forensic analysis and entered into the NIBIN database. This analysis confirmed that the same gun was used in all three incidents.
