First responders are asking neighbors to be careful of outdoor activities that can spark flames after a recent fire.

The grass fire broke out Saturday in Pleasant Valley.

According to Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue, the fire was sparked by cutting equipment, and crews were able to knock it down with a single engine.

Despite cold conditions, a lack of recent moisture has kept vegetation dry, leading to a higher fire risk.

Officials ask everyone in the area to continue to be mindful about anything that could possibly start a fire.
