The crack of the bat won’t be the only thing fans notice when they walk into the ballpark this season.
When the Reno Aces return to Greater Nevada Field later this month, they’ll debut a bold new lineup of food and drinks that celebrates Nevada history, local vendors, and creative twists on ballpark classics.
During a media preview attended by 2 News Nevada, the team offered a first taste of what fans can expect for the 2026 season, and the menu delivers on both flavor and creativity.
Leading the charge is Head Chef Melissa Williams, who has crafted a menu rooted in regional ingredients and elevated flavors, all designed to enhance the game-day experience in downtown Reno.
Williams, who was born and raised in Texas and now calls herself a “Texadan,” said her approach is shaped by years in the food truck scene and a growing focus on farm-to-table ingredients.
“Nevada makes great products, and we use various local vendors throughout the food served in the ballpark,” Williams said. “We’ll be focusing on local Reno food and highlighting something special throughout the season with themed nights, and the food will go along with the theme.”
She emphasized that while traditional ballpark staples remain, the goal is to push beyond the basics.
“You can go to any ballpark and get your basic chips and cheese nachos, and you can get a hot dog anywhere,” Williams said. “We love our hot dogs here, especially working with Flocchini, who makes all of our sausages and footlongs, but we’re bringing something new and different.”
That “something different” starts with The Biggest Little Chicken Sandwich ($13.50), a standout item featuring a crispy fried chicken patty topped with pickles from Nevada Brining Co. and a smoky Picon Punch aioli. The combination packs a punch, tangy, crispy, and rich with a citrusy kick inspired by Nevada’s official state drink.
Another highlight is the Versus Dog ($16), a rotating footlong hot dog that will change each homestand to represent the visiting opponent. The opening version arrives when the Aces host the Tacoma Rainiers.
For Tacoma, the dog is stacked with bold, Pacific Northwest-inspired flavors, featuring a Flocchini brisket footlong topped with jalapeño cream cheese, grilled onions, pickled red cabbage, and huckleberry mustard, all served on a soft potato bun. It’s a sweet, tangy, and savory combination that eats like a full meal.
And that’s just the beginning.
Do you like maple donuts?
Well, have you ever had one as a hot dog bun?
That’s just a hint of what’s to come.
During a media preview, our crew got to hear about one of the upcoming creations, a footlong hot dog served on a maple bar-style donut bun for a future Sugar Land series, with over-the-top toppings that promise to make it a must-try.
The new items will make their public debut during the Reno Aces 2026 home opener on Friday, March 27, when the team hosts the Tacoma Rainiers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.
The Basque Chorizo Sausage ($16) pays tribute to Northern Nevada’s deep Basque roots, featuring Flocchini chorizo topped with grilled peppers and onions, roasted garlic aioli, and cotija cheese on a soft pretzel bun. The flavors are bold and savory, with the garlic aioli and cheese adding a rich finish.
Beyond sandwiches, the menu expands into creative comfort food. The Pork “Belly Up” Bowl combines smoked pork belly burnt ends with a sweet and spicy bourbon-buffalo sauce and a crisp apple citrus slaw, balancing smoky barbecue with fresh, bright flavors.
Armadillo Eggs, jalapeño poppers tossed in buffalo BBQ sauce with buttermilk ranch and green onions, deliver what can only be described as a party of flavors.
Fans can also find a chef-curated Band Box charcuterie at Base Bistro, highlighting local ingredients in a convenient, shareable option.
Dessert brings its own showstopper: The Biggest Little Cookie ($12), a massive treat large enough to feed up to six people. Available in the Kid Zone, it comes with a wide range of topping choices, making it a customizable experience unlike a typical ballpark dessert.
Also new this season are Dirty Sodas ($9.95), a Utah-inspired trend making its way to Reno. These non-alcoholic drinks mix soda with flavored syrups, cream, and fruit. Signature options include the “Archie Palmer,” named after the team’s mascot, along with flavors like Batting a Melon, Tropical Play, and a creative twist on Dr. Pepper, or fans can build their own.
Williams’ journey to this role spans years with Professional Sports Catering, the company that operates concessions at ballparks and major events across the country.
She noted the scope of their work includes events like the Super Bowl, even pointing out that the burger seen on national TV being eaten by Travis Kelce during this year’s game was prepared by their teams.
She began with the company in Reno as a cook in 2017, worked her way up to sous chef in 2019, and later traveled the country with the company’s NASCAR division before returning in 2025.
“This is home,” Williams said. “I’m excited to bring my vision here and not be on the road anymore.”
Outside the ballpark, she’s also known locally for her “Feed the Camel” Hump Day food truck events at McKinley Arts & Culture Center, which are set to return June 3.
Looking ahead, fans can expect rotating menu items, themed nights, and continued creativity throughout the season.
“Concessions are where we get to have fun,” Williams said.
The new menu will debut during the Aces’ 2026 home opener on Friday, March 27, and will be available throughout the season.
