Update May 3:

TMWA has restored water service following the water main break at Prater Way and Stanford Way in Sparks.

Crews fully completed repairs around 8:40 p.m. the day before.

TMWA says the damaged pipe was a large-diameter water main located more than nine feet below ground, adding complexity to the repair process.

Original story May 1:

They say construction crews accidentally caused it by digging in the area of Prater Way and Stanford Way.

Repairs are underway, but traffic in the area is being impacted and detours are in place.

TMWA also says some customers in the area are out of water.
