Twain Fire 2

The Twain Fire burning in Plumas County is now 35% contained at 276 acres.

The fire is burning in the Feather River Canyon just east of Twain in the Plumas National Forest.

"Very little rain fell on the Twain Fire overnight but cool conditions continue to give firefighters an edge gaining containment in the steep terrain and heavy vegetation," says the U.S. Forest Service.

It's burning in the area of the 2021 Dixie Fire, which burned nearly 963,000 acres across five counties.

No buildings have been damaged or destroyed due to the Twain Fire.

Highway 70 remains open with traffic controls.

The cause remains under investigation.
