The U.S. Forest Service says state and local firefighters stopped forward progress of a wildfire on the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit Sunday afternoon.
The Tallac Fire burned a quarter of an acre.
It was reported just after 1:30 p.m. Sunday near Mt. Tallac Trailhead off Highway 89 near South Lake Tahoe.
The cause is under investigation.
