Two suspects are in custody following a string of armed robberies and other crimes that happened last year.
Between August 18 and September 20 of last year, four armed robberies happened at area convenience stores, according to a release from the Reno Police Department.
Each robbery involved two suspects.
Detectives with the Crime Gun Intelligence Center investigated the crimes and found that the suspects who allegedly robbed the convenience stores were also allegedly involved in vehicle burglaries, commercial burglaries, and grand larceny of motor vehicles.
Officers from the Reno Police Department and the Sparks Police Department tried to pull over vehicles associated with the suspects, but the vehicles would not stop and eluded officers, according to the release.
Due to public safety concerns, the vehicles were not chased.
On December 18, a suspect was taken into custody at a business in Reno. An arrest warrant was then issued for the second suspect, who was taken into custody on Wednesday.
Christopher Mikesell and Kenton Thompson, both of Reno, are facing multiple charges related to the crimes.
Mikesell's charges include robbery with a deadly weapon, four counts of ex-felon in possession of a firearm, four counts of grand larceny of a firearm, three counts of burglary, and two counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
Thompson is facing four counts of robbery with a deadly weapon.
