Tuesday was a celebratory day for the University of Nevada, Reno as they cut the ribbon and officially welcomed contributors into their brand-new business building.

The new building will feature all new resources for the University's fastest growing major.

"Our current population of students is about 3,500 students, who major in business and all of our various programs," said Dean of the College of Business Greg Mosier. "We actually anticipate that to continue to be growing as it serves the workforce needs of Northern Nevada and the state."

With new classrooms, lecture halls, collaboration rooms, a brand-new auditorium and even spots for students to relax and work on homework or even hang out with friends, the faculty believes this building gives students all the resources to succeed. It is a testament to how they are investing into their student body.

President of the University Brian Sandoval talked about how the project was funded with generous contributors, including the namesake John Tulloch, who helped fund the massive 128,000 square foot building.

"It really has been a team effort, a team collaboration in terms of coming up with a really innovative funding model in order to make this happen," said Sandoval. "There's not one cent of state money in this building and to be able to construct and now occupy what I think is the finest business, probably in the United States of America."

With students coming on back on campus for the start pf a new school year, it was incredible to see the building in action, including a state-of-the-art trading lab with terminals and equipment like what one could see on Wall Street.

It even includes a 24/7 ticker with all the stock information a business major could want or need. Sandoval continued to tell us just how amazing the building is.

"I think it shows a massive investment in and belief in our students and our faculty and our staff and frankly, in our community," he said. "This is a $140 million investment. It's probably the best built building in Washoe County, at least, if not northern Nevada. We already have a great university. But I think that this really, truly puts us on the map."

It was clear to see just how important this building and its facilities are to the faculty, student body, alumni and everyone involved with getting it built. For students to use now, and for students of the future to use for years to come.Â
