REMSA has announced another free car seat inspection event - coming up later this month in Reno.
This inspection will take place at UNR Early Head Start from 9 a.m. to noon at 3700 Grant Drive on October 18th.
For the inspection, parents should bring their children and car seats and schedule about 30 to 45 minutes for one seat - longer for more than one.
Organizers will check for obvious defects and determine whether the car seat appears on a national recall list.
They'll also check the installation and correct any problems with the seats.
REMSA says a correctly installed car seat can reduce the risk of death by as much as 71%.
