Verizon says it has identified a hardware issue the company says has impacted some customers in Yerington.
Earlier this week, we talked with some residents in the small town that told us service has been inconsistent for several months.
On Friday, Verizon sent 2 News Nevada this statement:Â
"Verizon experienced a service interruption for some customers in the Yerington area due to a hardware issue. Our engineers have identified and resolved the issue, and service has been restored. We are always looking at ways to improve our network to meet the evolving needs of our customers and our network team is planning to increase capacity in the area this year."
The City of Yerington says it's aware of the continuing issues and that the outage was reported the week of March 22nd.

In the small town of Yerington, Verizon customers have struggled to stay connected.
Viewers have reached out to us, saying Verizon cell service has been inconsistent over the past few months.
Jerry Espinoza said he started noticing calls dropping five weeks ago.
"I'm thinking, 'okay, this has happened in the past,' and just thinking it's going to be a one or two day thing, and it ended up being a lot longer," he said.
Espinoza said he's been in contact with the company since, and Verizon told him they'd send an engineer out.
About two weeks ago, he pursued another form of recourse.
"I heard that they were giving people credits, and it took me quite a while just to get a credit, and I still haven't seen it yet," Espinoza said.
He said the company told him it would update his account with a credit for this month's bill and next month's, but he hasn't seen that happen yet.
He's not the only one feeling disconnected by these service problems.
"For instance, if a medical facility was to call you, or you tried to call them and couldn't get through," Jane Montalbano said, "then the next thing you know, you cannot call them back directly because they've called you on a private line. So you have no knowledge of what they wanted."
Montalbano owns Red Rooster Emporium, a small gift shop in a historic building on Main Street. She said service through Verizon has given her pains dating back three months.
"When I don't have a customer in the store, I'm selling online," she said, "and I might be in the middle of a listing and then have everything drop out or go too slow."
If nothing else, Montalbano said she just wants answers from Verizon.
"Honesty's the best policy," she said. "Share with us what's going on, and then we can either be patient and bear with you, or we could expect and demand more from you. We are paying for a service, and we'd like to have it."
The City of Yerington told us it's aware of these issues.
In a statement, the city said an outage was reported the week of March 22nd, and carriers restored service on the 26th.
The City says it is aware of continuing issues and is keeping an eye on the situation.
2 News Nevada has reached out to also Spectrum - another company viewers reported issues with - but hasn't heard back at the time of writing.
