An injured hiker was rescued near the Tahoe Rim Trail Wednesday night with help from a Washoe County Sheriff's Office helicopter crew and search and rescue teams.
The Sheriff's Office RAVEN crew, Washoe County Search and Rescue and North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District responded to the incident.
Using cell phone location technology, crews were able to pinpoint the hiker's location. The RAVEN helicopter flew to the area, and search and rescue hoist technicians were lowered from the aircraft to help the hiker.
The hiker was transported to an area along Mt. Rose Highway, where a North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District ambulance was waiting.
The hiker's condition has not been released.
