WCSO plunge1

Members of the Washoe County Sheriff's Office took an icy plunge in Lake Tahoe in support of Special Olympics Nevada Sunday.

According to a Facebook post from the sheriff's office, this year's event had a carnival theme with colorful costumes.

"...our team showed up ready to embrace the energy, creativity, and fun that filled the day. From colorful costumes to big laughs, the spirit of the carnival was on full display.  It may only take a few seconds to hit the water, but the impact lasts far beyond the plunge. Every jump helps fund year-round programs and opportunities for Special Olympics athletes across Nevada."
