Washoe County is asking people to weigh in on proposed updates to the rules that guide its Citizens Advisory Boards.

The county says the bylaws outline how the boards operate, and officials are now looking to bring those guidelines up to date. The current version has not been revised since 2015 and reflects practices that are no longer in line with how the program functions today.

A draft of the updated bylaws is now available for public review. County officials say the changes are meant to reflect how the advisory boards have evolved and to support more consistent and effective community engagement moving forward.

The proposed updates are part of a broader effort that began in June 2025 to revise the governing documents for the advisory boards.

Washoe County is encouraging people to review the draft and submit feedback by May 15.

Officials say community input will help shape the final version of the bylaws and guide how the advisory boards operate in the future.
