Two people were arrested on Wednesday in the parking lot of a Reno business after one of them fled from a traffic stop in Sun Valley just days before.

On Friday, May 9, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies tried to start a traffic stop on 34-year-old Dustin Cottiero, according to a press release.

The Sheriff's Office says Cottiero led deputies on a chase, wherein he nearly hit two deputies and a civilian uninvolved in the incident with his car.

Due to the threat to public safety, deputies ended their chase.

A brief time later, Cottiero’s car was found abandoned on Peridot Way in Sun Valley.

Deputies searched for him using K9 units and a drone, but could not find him.

On Wednesday, May 14, Cottiero was found and arrested, as well as 23-year-old Annalisa Cordes.

They were arrested in the parking lot of a business in Reno.

Cordes and Cottiero were in her vehicle at the time of the arrest, and both were taken into custody without incident.

Cottiero was booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility on charges including two counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a first responder, assault with a deadly weapon, disobeying a peace officer and endangering others, ownership or possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, failure to stop at the scene of an accident involving injury/death or property injury, display of bogus vehicle registration/plate/title, failure to stop at accident involving attended vehicle/property damage, arrest for violation of conditions of parole, and failure to appear after bail, felony crime.

Cordes was booked on possession of a controlled substance.
