The Washoe County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) has recently released some numbers regarding domestic violence cases for the beginning of 2025.

According to the release, the WCSO responded to 133 domestic violence-related cases from January until the end of April.

Out of those 133 calls, 74 of them resulted in arrests.

WCSO has provided some tips to help the public recognize the signs of domestic abuse, including:

  • Unexplained injuries or frequent "accidents"
  • Isolation from friends, family or activities
  • Sudden changes in behavior, confidence or personality
  • Fearfulness around their partner or excessive need to "check in"
  • Financial control or limited access to money
