The City of Reno will soon see a small bump in the price of trash collection through the city's partner Waste Management.
According to a memo sent to the City of Reno; Waste Management alerted the city on March 3 of rate increases for 2025.
Waste Management is increasing the collection rates by 4.44% as of April 1, 2025.
The rate increases are allowed per the existing agreements Waste Management has for commercial, residential and disposal franchises in the city.
Disposal allowances have also increased for the city for city-owned building and facilities.
The City of Sparks was similarly notified about a rate hike of 4.24% back in December 2024, which took effect on February 1, 2025.
