Spring cleaning time is here, and with it Waste Management wants to help you remove unwanted items from your home.
Free Dump Days at the Lockwood landfill will take place twice this month: April 17-19, and April 21-26.
The station is located at 2700 E. Mustang Road in Reno, and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
This event is free, but restricted to residents of Reno, Sparks, unincorporated Washoe and Storey County.
Accepted items at the dump days include:
- Household appliances
- Hot water heaters
- Stoves
- Dishwashers
- Washers & dryers
- Sofas, chairs, mattresses & box springs
- Tires (four per household)
Waste Management will not accept appliances containing coolant, microwaves, batteries, electronics (including televisions), concrete, wood, stucco, brick, dirt or construction materials, cathode ray tubes (CRT - old style TVs), toxic or hazardous waste, engines or transmissions.
The organizers would like to note that commercial customers, commercial vehicles and trailers will be charged normal rates.
