Crews are on site at D Street and Union Street after a water main break created a geyser, according to the Storey County website.
Officials say the water main has been turned off and flooding from the break is not expected, though storm flash flood advisories remain in effect.
No homes are currently affected by the break. Two local businesses, Bucket of Blood Saloon and The Lost Seoul Saloon, are experiencing impacts, officials said.
At this time, there is no boil water order in effect. Residents and business owners needing sand or sandbags can pick them up at VC Icehouse, 110 Toll Road, the website says.
Officials continue to monitor the situation as crews work to repair the water main.
