Lots of neighborhoods are going to be packed with ghosts, princesses, superheroes, you name it.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office says they are going to be spread all across the community tonight at different Halloween events, trick or treating, and even in downtown to make sure the adults are celebrating responsibly too.

Brad Howell, public information officer for WCSO, says, "For all the grown-up ghouls we do want you to make smart choices, make sure you have a designated driver, call a ride share program, call a friend. It's going to be a whole lot better than if we have to make the call for you."

The Sheriff's Office does have increased units out specifically looking out for people who may be driving under the influence. Drivers are being asked to slow down and stay extra cautious of pedestrians whether it be neighborhoods or city streets.

Trick or treaters are also being encouraged to pay close attention to your surroundings and have a plan where if you get lost, you can meet each other at place that will be easy to find.

Howell adds, "We do recommend that everyone is carrying flashlights, glow sticks. We know that costumes have to look really cool and fun so if there's any way to attach maybe something on the back of your kiddo so they're extra visible."

Pedestrians are also asked to stay on sidewalks, use crosswalks, and keep your eyes peeled for cars driving by.

Happy Halloween!
