DECEMBER 30 UPDATE:

A woman has pleaded guilty to charges related to a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened in Reno in August.

Denice Roland-Hernandez is scheduled to be sentenced on February 12 after pleading guilty to duty to stop at the scene involving death, and driving without a driver's license, according to a release from the Reno Police Department.

A driver now faces charges in connection with Tuesday morning's deadly hit-&-run crash with a bicyclist near Wells Avenue in Reno. 

Police say Denice Roland-Hernandez was arrested after her car was identified in the crash. 

The bicyclist's name hasn't bene released. 

ORIGINAL STORY: 

A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday morning on Wells Avenue near Sadlier Way, prompting an ongoing investigation and significant traffic impacts.

At 4:39 a.m., personnel from the Reno Police Department, Reno Fire Department, and REMSA responded to the crash. Medical personnel declared the bicyclist deceased at the scene.

The Reno Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) is handling the investigation. The identity of the bicyclist is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

Police said the striking car fled the scene. It is believed to be a light-colored 2011–2014 Chrysler 200, likely with front-end damage.

Police believe there may be one or more witnesses to the incident who did not remain on the scene.

Drivers should avoid Wells Avenue between Sadleir Way and 9th Street while the investigation continues.

A $1500 reward is currently being offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect wanted in connection with this fatal crash.
