Reno Police have arrested a man they say punched a woman in the face, stole two different cars and then led officers on a pursuit before eventually getting caught.
Police say around 10 p.m. Wednesday, 20-year-old Michael Matherly approached a woman near Lymberry Street and Brinkby Avenue and demanded money from her and then punched her in the face several times before running off.
Police say he then approached another person about an hour later, again demanding money, but this time was armed with a knife. The victim got away and police say Matherly stole an empty car.
Then three hours later, police say they found the same car in a parking lot near Steamboat and Veterans Parkway, empty and abandoned.
At a nearby park, police say Matherly approached another car and stole it at gunpoint - that victim got also got away.
Then, police say they found that same car with Matherly who then led them on a pursuit, eventually hitting a curb near Double Diamond and South Meadows.
After the car got stuck, Matherly took off running but eventually officers caught up with him and took him into custody.
