Gas station giant Buc-ee’s has sparked a backlash in Ohio over one of its frequent trademark infringement lawsuits. Texas-based chain Buc-ee’s Ltd. says in its lawsuit that the logo for Beaver’s Mini Mart in the city of Beavercreek too closely resembles the gas station giant’s Buc-ee-brand beaver. The first Buc-ee’s location in Ohio opened about a half hour from the mini mart. Critics have attacked Buc-ee’s online and boycotted the stores. The mini mart's home city has passed a resolution making the beaver an official part of its history. Buc-ee’s has asked for a jury trial in federal court.
