Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is appearing before a House committee investigating sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Lawmakers are seeking answers about Lutnick’s contact with Epstein after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution from an underage girl in Florida. Lutnick is a member of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet. The Republican president's commerce secretary is the latest powerful political figure to appear before the House Oversight Committee. Lutnick previously gave contradictory statements about his relationship with Epstein, who died in a New York jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. Lutnick says he's done nothing wrong and welcomes Wednesday's closed-door interview with lawmakers.
