Rescuers have pulled survivors from mud and helicopters have lifted people to safety after flash floods hit Nepal and China. The disaster has killed over 500 people and left more than 1,500 missing. Nepal's disaster management authority reported 538 deaths, while Nepali police increased the number to 547. On the Chinese side, the death toll rose to five. Hundreds of foreigners were in the area for work, trekking or pilgrimage. Authorities warn of more flooding from a new lake. Thousands have been evacuated, and rescue operations continue. Families worldwide hope for news of their missing loved ones.
