Hurricane Nolo is moving away from the Hawaiian Islands but the threat of heavy rain, flash floods and strong winds persists. Nolo was about 365 miles south-southwest of Honolulu on Sunday and moving away from the Big Island. Nolo’s top sustained winds have rise to 115 mph. Hawaiians are still recovering from recent hurricanes Lala and Lowell. Meanwhile, parts of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula braced for the arrival of major Hurricane Polo as it edged closer to the coast with maximum sustained winds of 125 mph. Forecasters said Polo was expected to make landfall in Mexico on Monday.
