Some pretty big parking changes are coming to Zephyr Cove Beach in Lake Tahoe.

Starting tomorrow, you will have to pay to park and no parking will be allowed along the sides of Highway 50.

The county says that these changes aim to reduce beach congestion, improve sanitation, and enhance overall safety.

There will be limited paid parking on Warrior Way and at Zephyr Cove Park, Zephyr Cove Elementary School and George Whittell High School.

After speaking with people that are parking for free on Warrior Way for the last time, the feedback isn't very good.

While the county says rates could be adjusted based on demand, the plan is for parking to cost $20 on weekdays and $40 on the weekends.

For holidays and high demand days the price will be $100 for the day.

These parking changes are expected to run through August.

Illegally parked cars could get ticketed or even towed.
