According to the Nevada State Police, the plane landed near mile marker five on Highway 50 in Lyon County around 12:17 p.m.
No cars were involved in the landing and no injured were reported.
The plane is currently being transported to the Silver Springs airport.
Delays on Highway 50 are expected to continue through about 5 p.m.

A plane made an emergency landing in Lyon County on Friday.
It happened on Highway 50 at Pradere Road according to a post from the Lyon County Sheriff's Office.
A spokesperson for the Lyon County Sheriff's Office said the plane was out of fuel and had to make a controlled landing.
The plane was carrying two passengers and a pilot. It is described as an Aero Commander 500 2 engine craft.
No injuries have been reported in the incident.
Eastbound lanes of Highway 50 are closed.
