WRITE A BRIEF (TWO TO THREE SENTENCES) SUMMARY OF YOUR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD ENABLE YOU TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THIS OFFICE:
As the current Ward 4 Supervisor, I know what the job takes. Having the ability to work with, and listen to, differing perspectives to get to the best outcome is essential. My background in law enforcement and education, along with my experience establishing and running the non-profit CASI that spearheaded the building of the Carson City animal shelter, shows a strong framework of leadership and community service.
WHAT IS YOUR TOP PRIORITY IF ELECTED?
I have, and will continue to support, investing in our infrastructure and space needs. Updating our Quill water treatment facility allows more efficient use of our water resources. Meeting the needs of our Courts and Juvenile Detention Facilities is essential. Additionally, maintaining our roads is an investment that benefits all and of us. Our public has voiced that the responsibility of funding our local roads should be shared by all users. I agree.
IN JUST A FEW SENTENCES: WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM FACING CARSON CITY, AND HOW WOULD YOU FIX IT?
Road funding revenue (gas tax) is not keeping up with repair and maintenance costs. It’s important that we address our funding challenges so we can better maintain and preserve our local roads to reduce the need for more costly full repaving or reconstruction. I support the two ballot measures earmarked for local road funding. I see both as opportunities to allow for a larger percentage of users, including visitors and drivers of electric and hybrid vehicles, to contribute to our maintenance needs.
IN ONE SENTENCE: WHAT’S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING VOTERS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOU?
I am a bridge builder; I listen and take seriously the concerns and needs of our community knowing that every decision matters.
YES OR NO: WILL YOU ACCEPT THE RESULTS OF THIS ELECTION, WHETHER YOU WIN OR LOSE?
Yes
