Hundreds of people got up bright and early on Saturday to help set up the Reno Rodeo.

Organizers of the event say that the Rodeo wouldn't be possible without them.

"They're everything, the volunteers, their passion, their efforts, their will to succeed and make sure that the area that they are supervising is the best possible in performance and outcome is critical to our success," said Carrie Ann Sattler, Reno Rodeo President 2024.

Around 5 a.m., volunteers began showing up at the Reno Rodeo Arena to work.

Volunteers were setting up chairs, painting parts of the grandstands, and setting up tents.

There is still some work to be done, but this day gave volunteers the chance to get some big projects done.

Many people say that volunteering holds a special place in their hearts because of the connections they have made over the years.

"The people that you meet and the people who are willing to gift hundreds of hours of their time to this association every year, they are just passionate about what they do. So, that excitement and passion just get you more excited and passionate about what you are doing. We come out, and we have a great time to better Northern Nevada," said Andi Morency.

Over the next few days, some volunteers will continue to help as they prepare for the opening night concert on Wednesday.
