Nevada Senator Jacky Rosen issued a statement today marking six years since the 1 October shooting in Las Vegas.
The attack on October 1st, 2017 took 58 lives, and two others who were injured in the attack died years later in 2019 and 2020. More than 800 people were injured.
"Six years ago, a horrible tragedy struck our state and left its mark forever. We honor the memory of the innocent lives cut short, the survivors, and the families of all those impacted by that horrific night,” said Senator Rosen.
“At this dark moment, we saw our community go above and beyond to help others. Our heroic first responders ran into harm’s way to help, and thousands of Nevadans donated blood to save lives," Senator Rosen continued. "I’m committed to making sure no other community feels this kind of pain by advocating for continued bipartisan action to reduce gun violence.”
No motive for the shooting was ever officially determined.
