The Nevada State Police have identified one of the passengers who died in a car that collided with a horse on Highway 395 near Red Rock Road last week.
Nevada State Police say a preliminary investigation indicates that a 2008 Subaru Tribeca with three occupants was heading north on Highway 395 approaching the Red Rock Road off-ramp when it encountered a horse in the roadway.
NSP says it is unknown why the horse was in the roadway, the front of Subaru hit the horse and all three occupants suffered injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.
NSP says one of the passengers, 19-year-old Wendem Herzog of Queen Creek, Arizona was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.Â
Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or may have information about the crash or the horse to contact the Reno office at (775) 687-9600.

The crash happened just after 2:15 a.m.Â
Nevada State Police says the unidentified person died after being transported to a nearby hospital.Â
No other information was immediately released, including the condition of the involved horse.
