On Thursday, detectives with the Washoe County School District Police Department arrested 32-year-old Ryley Coker and charged him with felony counts of Solicitation of a Child for Prostitution and Abuse of a Child Involving Sexual Exploitation.
WCSD PD detectives, with assistance from the Regional Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit (HEAT Team), began investigating Coker after receiving information he was in contact with a juvenile and soliciting for prostitution.
The district has taken immediate action and placed Coker on emergency suspension without pay as the due process continues.
The district will continue to assist our school police and regional detectives as the investigation continues.
Coker has been employed with the district since 2014 and most recently taught special education math at Hug High School.
