June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month and officials with the Northern Nevada Pride Festival and CommUNITY Pride Parade say there will not be a Pride Festival in Wingfield Park, or a CommUNITY Pride Parade through downtown this summer amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Instead, there will be a virtual event on Saturday July 25, 2020.
Officials say their mission with every pride parade is to empower all members of our community by promoting diversity, celebrating culture and remembering history.
They say they'll still be raising funds for Our Center, which is Northern Nevada's LGBTQ+ community center.Â
Officials say you will be able to donate online and you will still be able to sponsor the virtual event.
They say in 2019, 15,000 people showed up to the parade, which brought in $50,000 for Our Center.Â
Officials say Northern Nevada Pride 2021 is set for July 24th, 2021.Â
