Our Pet of the Week this week is Jackie, a senior grey tabby cat that is desperately in need of a new home.
She was brought to the SPCA of Northern Nevada after her guardians passed away, both of whom she was very close with.Â
Jackie has been very shy since arriving at the adoption center and spends most of her time hiding in her favorite pink bed.Â
Lately, SPCA has been able to coax her out with "Churu" treats (a delicious salmon and shrimp flavored puree), and with lots of chin scratches.
She is truly a loving cat, and would do best in a calm and quiet environment where she can feel comfortable.Â
SPCA would love to see her get adopted into an adult-only home where her new guardians will give her the time and patience to come out of her shell.
She has not previously lived with any other animals, but if an adopter does have other pets they will receive counseling on how to best introduce Jackie to them.
