Authorities say a small plane taking 17 passengers skydiving in Northern California made a hard landing and ended upside-down in a vineyard, leaving only the pilot with minor injuries.
FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said that shortly after takeoff from an airstrip near Lodi, the single-engine plane experienced engine trouble.
Gregor says the pilot tried to return the Cessna 208 to the airport.
He says it clipped a car, causing it to crash just short of the airport and landing upside-down.
Gregor says that nobody on the ground was hurt.
Authorities are investigating what happened.
The FAA says the plane is registered to a company in Zephyr Cove in Nevada.
