The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe is opening all beaches just in time for Memorial Day!
The tribe says there are no more limits to campers on the beach, but there are still some restricted areas, such as the Pyramid, Anaho Island, Howard and Dago Bay, the Needles; these areas are still closed to the public.
Permits are only available online, or at the Ranger Station in Sutcliffe throughout the weekend. Seasonal Day Passes have now been added for seniors over 65 years of age.
Fireworks and fireworks permits are also available at three stores: I-80 Smokeshop, The Nixon Store and the Marina. All fireworks purchases are on a first come first serve basis. You must have the permit at all times while at designated beaches.
Face masks are required at all store locations and masks must cover the nose.
Note: the Nixon Store will be closed June 1-3, 2021 for gas pump replacement.
