Reed High School Band Gets $25,000 Donation

Reed High School's music program got a big donation on Wednesday.

Thanks to a donation of $25,000 from the family of local philanthropist, Robert Sims, the school's band will be able to buy new 100 uniforms.

Their current uniforms are more than a decade old and the director says they have big plans for the band in the years ahead.

"We have a plan in the next couple years to do the Rose Parade to do the Hollywood Christmas Parade and we want to make sure we represent our school our district and our community in the right way,” says Ron Eichstedt, Director of Instrumental Music, Reed High School.

The director says the new uniforms will help the program continue to grow. It's more than doubled over the last year.
