Nevada regents may soon appoint a new president for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Board members of the Nevada System of Higher Education were scheduled to review the recommendations of a presidential search committee on Tuesday. They could vote to appoint a candidate or opt to continue the search.
Three finalists addressed the search committee on Monday to make their case for the school's top post.
They include Georgia Regents University President Dr. Ricardo Azziz, dean Len Jessup of the University of Arizona Eller College of Management, and UNLV Executive Vice President and Provost John Valery White.Â
The candidates are vying to replace former UNLV president Neal Smatresk, who left the school in 2013 to head the University of North Texas.
