The Washoe County District Attorney's Office says a Reno man was sentenced to life in prison for multiple lewdness charges.
Officials said 35-years-old Fidel Jimenez-Zarate was convicted to two counts of lewdness with a child under 14 years.
He was sentenced on September 16 to consecutive life terms in prison with parole eligibility after 20 years served.
He was also convicted on one county of attempted lewdness with a child under 14 years and sentenced to an additional term of four to ten years, bringing his parole eligibility date to after a minimum of 24 years served.
The case against him began in January 2018, when detectives with the Reno Police Department responded to a report of lewdness involving a 13-year-old female victim.
The DA's Office says detectives determined the victim had been abused over the course of the previous five years by a relative of the child's family.
Jimenez-Zarate was subsequently arrested and pleaded guilty in May.
