Citizens of Reno are being encouraged to participate in Neighborhood Advisory Boards which begin meeting on Tuesday July 7th starting with Ward 3.
The City of Reno explains that based on where you live, residents are divided into five City Council wards. Each ward has one representative on the Reno City Council and is led by five board members, appointed by Council for 2-year terms. Each ward will meet once a month on an ongoing basis.
On one of the City's websites, aroundthearch.com, the City says that the ultimate goals of the NABs include improving "neighborhood communications between residents, City staff and City Council Members, provide an opportunity for residents to voice important issues in their neighborhood, and to create an added communication channel for residents to provide feedback on certain development projects in their neighborhood.
You can find more information and check out the interactive map to find your ward at: http://reno.gov/residents/your-neighborhood
