The Reno Police Department (RPD) says in August, 2019, detectives currently assigned to the Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit (H.E.A.T) conducted an investigation related to the recruitment of children into the commercial sex trade occurring on social media.

They say through the course of this investigation, detectives identified 19 year-old Ladon Jones who had recruited an individual, whom he believed to be a 16 year-old female, on a social media website to engage in prostitution.

RPD says Jones was arrested and charged with Attempt Sex Trafficking of a Child.

They say Jones  pleaded guilty to attempted sex trafficking of a child and on March 17, 2020 was sentenced to 24-72 months in prison.
