Girl Scouts across the nation and Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada are gearing up for their 2020 season with the launch of a new cookie. 

Memorial day is truly a day to remember those who have sacrificed their lives to keep us safe. Scout leaders say today is especially important to teach young people why we honor those who have fallen while serving our country. 

On Saturday, many community members took part in different activities, all to honor the servicemen and servicewomen who gave their lives serving this country. 

It's that time of year again, and the Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada are ready to kickoff their cookie sales with a new cookie baker and Cookie Kickoff event!

The city of Spark's 31-st annual "hometown Christmas parade" kicked off with the annual tree lighting ceremony last night and ended with the Christmas parade this morning. 

In a historic change, the Boy Scouts are announcing plans to admit girls into the Cub Scouts starting next year and to establish a new program for older girls using the same curriculum as the Boy Scouts. 

More than a thousand people and 85 entries packed into the staging areas off Pyramid and Victorian to line themselves up for the annual Sparks Hometowne Christmas Parade.

This is the 4th year for Girl Scout Adventure Day at Cabela's. Ages ranged from 1st to 6th grade and they seem to be having a lot of fun. 

Created by kids and for kids - a new initiative is keeping students in northwest Reno safe when walking to and from school.
