Lyon County officials say the Yerington/Mason Valley Fire Protection District (MVFPD) responded to a brush fire near the River Split Ranch 688, Highway 208 area. They said it burned four to five acres and crews will be on scene for several hours to mop up.
UPDATE: The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno has issued a Flood Warning for the mainstem of the Walker River above the Weber Reservoir in Mason Valley.
Lyon County says that reports of flash flooding are coming in from the east Mason Valley just east of Yerington. The Lyon County Sheriff's Office and road department personnel have responded.
Lyon County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer says their dispatch received reports of the fire around 12:48 p.m. Saturday.
