Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue quickly put out a fire in Spanish Springs on Monday, and they say the incident is a reminder that burning is closed in their jurisdiction.

The fires destroyed one home and damaged two others.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. 

Smoke from the wildfire is expected to create unhealthy air quality in the Truckee Meadows.

Officials say no structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.

Multiple aircraft over the fire are making good progress.

Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, along with the Bureau of Land Management is working on containing a brush fire in Silver Lake off Red Rock Road.

Officials say the fire was approximately 5 acres in size.

62-year-old Lorene Vagts of Reno was pronounced dead at the scene on April 21.
