A search and rescue team has found the body of a Nevada hiker who went missing in late July.

The Elko Daily Free press reports (http://bit.ly/2bxWaJT) that Elko County Undersheriff Ron Supp says 20-year-old Jacob Beetler of Spring Creek was reported missing on July 29 after leaving for a day hike in the Ruby Mountains two days earlier.

Hikers found some of Beetler's belongings near Birch Creek on Saturday.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office High Altitude Rescue Team found Beetler's body Tuesday morning on the eastern slopes of the Ruby Mountains.

Supp says the cause of death is not yet known.
