May 30 Update

A large-scale search and rescue operation is now underway near Fallen Leaf Lake in El Dorado County for a 60-year-old hiker Jason Coughran who has been missing since Memorial Day. 

California Governor's Office of Emergency Services is coordinating with the El Dorado Sheriff's Office on the search involving 120 search-and-rescue volunteers from 20 counties.

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office needs your help finding an overdue hiker last seen in the Desolation Wilderness area on the south end of Lake Tahoe.

Authorities say 60-year-old hiker Jason Coughran was last believed to be near Angora Peak around 11 a.m. on Monday.

Coughran is 6'2" tall, 150 pounds with a medium build with brown hair and hazel eyes.

He may be wearing khaki shorts and a long sleeve white and blue shirt.
