Fatal Home Fire in Dayton Kills One Person

The Sparks Fire Department says crews responded to a house fire in the 900 block of Sixth Street on Thursday evening.

Officials said the fire is under control at this time.

They said initial calls reported the home was fully involved, and heavy smoke was showing with fire in the attic.

Officials said crews had to pull the ceiling and cut a hole in the roof to put out the flames.

They said 22 personnel responded to the scene.

Officials said no injuries were reported. NV Energy shut down power and RESMA was standing by just in case.

They said the fire might have started when a tree fell into the electrical service of the house.

The Sparks Fire Department says a fire investigator is going to the scene.
