The Sparks Police Department is warning people about a suspicious incident that happened on Thursday, September 10.

They say on Thursday at 4:30 p.m., Sparks Police responded to a residence in the 1800 block of H Street for suspicious circumstances.

There a resident told them that a man, posing as an alarm company representative, knocked on her door and asked to come inside to check the status of her current alarm system.

Sparks Police say subject convinced the resident to let him inside and asked for the code to the alarm system, as well as the resident's social security number and financial information.

They were told the subject left when the resident mentioned that her son would be coming to the house soon.

The Sparks Police Department encourages citizens to be aware of unscheduled visits by solicitors and service workers. 

They ask citizens to take caution with those that enter your residence and keep personal information secured.
